About The Role:
ONErpm seeks to find a full-time A&R/PM consultant to grow the company’s business development in Uganda. The role ensures that artists and label partners are supported to reach their fullest potential. As a business development professional for ONErpm, the consultant will have strong skills in prospecting, relationship building, creative deal structuring and negotiation skills. With a full understanding of ONErpm’s business model, the consultant will convey ONErpm unique value proposition to local artists, artists managers, label executives and music attorneys. The representative will also handle marketing and distribution for ONErpm releases in the local market. This role requires comprehensive communication and coordination internally and externally as well as an in-depth understanding of digital streaming and social media platforms. This position will focus on creating and executing release and marketing strategy for emerging and established artists.
Responsibilities
1) A&R
- Drive new business development by identifying and attracting developing & high tier artists, engaging their teams, and closing agreements. You will have the ability to actively source deals from existing relationships, and the ability to forge new relationships by taking ONErpm’s value proposition to the right decision makers. Identify prospective ONErpm artists, artist managers, catalogs and labels; and onboard them to our platform.
- Set metrics for new client/artist acquisition and cascade SMART goals - you will be responsible for meeting quarterly and annual revenue goals as well as be data-driven to assess earning potentials.
- Prioritize data-driven analysis for deals; this will include a review of financial projections to justify talent acquisition and earning potential.
- Demonstrate financial accountability with a continuous monitor of earning potentials.
- Leverage a network of music business relationships to uncover new opportunities for expansion, and leverage intentional networking skills to access new contacts and expand relationships.
- Continuously improve existing processes or create new processes that support efficiency, creativity, collaboration and achievement of company goals.
2) Marketing
Develop and execute creative marketing plans, set timelines, and manage budgets, focusing on music streaming growth
Identify key streaming growth tactics
Complete a multitude of tasks with a high volume of releases
Foster and maintain strong relationships with Digital Streaming Platforms
Work in conjunction with artists, managers, and internal specialized departments
Seek, negotiate and develop strategic relationships
Manage budgets of varying sizes
Organize inbound requests across a variety of internal and external workstreams.
Work collaboratively
Qualifications
- Established relationships across the ecosystem with artists, managers, DSPs and other partners, and will have a track record of getting things done.
Relevant marketing experience with music streaming through a major/indie label, an entertainment company, streaming platform or management or comparable organization - generally gained through 4 or more years of experience
In-depth knowledge of streaming platforms and playlisting, brand management /artist development/public relations, digital marketing, social networks
Proven track record of working to manage a high volume of communication (phone calls and email) and meetings
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Creativity and willingness to think outside the box
Understanding of standard analytical streaming and music marketing tools
- Strong business and financial acumen, including prior experience meeting or exceeding revenue and profitability targets.
- Strong analytics and an understanding of deal economics, projections, and valuations
- Demonstrated prospecting, relationship building, creative deal structuring and negotiation skills.
- Degree in music business, business, finance or relevant field of study or equivalent experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent use of G-Suite, MS Office, PowerBi, and other relevant software acumen
