A&R
You will be part of the A&R and Business Development team, ensuring that artists and label partners receive the necessary support to reach their full potential. You will actively seek out deals through your existing relationships while developing new ones. You will be responsible for meeting quarterly and annual revenue goals, and for using data-driven insights to evaluate earning potential.
Responsibilities:
- Drive new business development by identifying and attracting top-tier artists, engaging with their managers, and closing artist deals.
- Identify prospective artists for ONErpm, artist managers, catalogs, and labels, and onboard them to our platform
- Establish metrics for new client/artist acquisition and set individual targets across the team
- Prioritize data-driven analysis for deal evaluation; this includes reviewing financial projections to justify talent acquisition and revenue potential.
- Demonstrate financial accountability through ongoing monitoring of revenue forecasts.
- Support junior A&Rs in structuring, negotiating, and closing deals.
- Leverage your music industry network to discover new expansion opportunities, using intentional networking skills to access new contacts and strengthen relationships.
- Serve as a voice and representative of ONErpm by maintaining visibility and presence at industry events and panels.
- Continuously improve existing processes or create new ones that enhance efficiency, creativity, collaboration, and achievement of company goals.
Requirements:
- Music industry expert with at least 3 years of experience in A&R, business development, and/or direct contribution to the growth of record labels, artist management agencies, distributors, or other relevant segments of the music ecosystem.
- Strong financial acumen, including a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and profitability goals.
- Demonstrated success in business development within the music industry and/or in artist or label acquisition/relations at a distributor, or other relevant areas of the music business.
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of deal economics, projections, and valuations.
- Established relationships across the music ecosystem with artists, managers, DSPs, and other partners, with a proven record of achieving results.
- Proven skills in prospecting, relationship building, creative deal structuring, and negotiation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
